Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Chewsr. Please read them, especially the community rules. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

Chewsr is provided by KR Labs Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17526138, registered office 2 Elverston Close, Laindon, Basildon, England, SS15 5TY), trading as Chewsr. Contact us at support@chewsr.app.

2. Who can use Chewsr

• You must be 18 or over.
• You must be able to agree to these terms, and not be barred from using Chewsr by law or by a previous ban from us.
• Chewsr is designed for couples in the UK. You can use it elsewhere, but place information may be less complete.

3. Your account

• Give accurate information and keep your sign-in details private. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
• One person per account. Don’t create an account for someone else or pretend to be someone you’re not.
• Tell us straight away at support@chewsr.app if you think someone else has accessed your account.

4. How Chewsr works

Each of you gets a daily deck of places near you. You swipe separately; when you both like the same place, it’s a match. You can plan the date, and afterwards add a page to your private scrapbook, with up to three photos. Some features (such as more cards each day) may only be available on a paid plan. We’re always improving Chewsr, so features may change, and during the beta some things may not work perfectly. We’ll do our best to tell you about significant changes in advance.

5. Places, bookings and offers

• Place names, photos, ratings, prices and opening hours mostly come from Google and other sources. We show them in good faith, but we can’t guarantee they’re accurate or up to date. Check with the venue before you go, especially opening times, prices, accessibility and dietary needs.
• Chewsr doesn’t run, own or recommend any venue as safe or suitable for you. Your visit, booking and payment are between you and the venue (or the booking provider), on their terms.
• “Book a table” and similar buttons take you to other websites. Some are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you book. This doesn’t cost you anything extra.
• If a venue pays to feature in Chewsr, we’ll label it clearly as sponsored.
• Please drink responsibly, plan how you’ll get home, and look after each other.

6. Couples and partners

• Only link with a partner who has agreed to it. Your couple code lets someone link with you, so only share it with your partner.
• Your partner sees your matches, plans, preferences and the posts you share with them, but not the places you passed on. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what they see.
• You can unlink at any time in Account → Couple settings. Linking with a new partner is free once every 28 days; relinking with the same partner is always free.

7. Community rules

Your scrapbook is private to you and your partner unless you share a page to Social. These rules apply to anything you upload or share on Chewsr. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour.

8. Reports, removal and bans

• Every shared page on Social has a menu where you can report it or block the people who shared it. Blocking hides their pages from you and yours from them.
• We review reports within 24 hours. Pages reported by several people are hidden automatically while we look into them.
• If something breaks these terms, we’ll remove it. Depending on how serious it is, we may also warn you, suspend your account, or ban you permanently. Where the law requires it, or someone may be at risk, we may report it to the police or other authorities.
• If you think we got a decision wrong, email support@chewsr.app and we’ll look at it again.

9. Your content

• Your photos and captions stay yours. By posting them, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and share them within Chewsr, to you and your partner in your scrapbook, and to couples on Social for any page you choose to share.
• We won’t use your posts in advertising outside the app without asking you first.
• The licence ends when you delete the post or your account, except for copies that other people already saved within the app or that we need to keep for safety or legal reasons (see our Privacy Policy).
• You’re responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to post it.

10. Paid features

• Paid plans and one-off purchases (such as Chewsr Plus, extra cards or a link pass) are bought through the App Store and billed by Apple. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions), at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Cancelling stops future payments; you keep the paid features until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. This doesn’t affect your legal rights.
• Free trials: if a plan comes with a free trial, you won’t be charged until it ends. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and Apple charges you the price shown.
• One subscription covers you both. Chewsr Plus covers you and the partner you’re linked with. The subscription belongs to the person who paid: if you unlink, the other partner loses the paid features straight away, and the person who paid keeps them until they cancel.
• We may change prices or what’s included in a plan. We’ll tell you before a price change affects you, and Apple will ask for your agreement where its rules require it. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.

11. Our app and brand

Chewsr, its design, logo, software and content (apart from your content and third-party content such as Google’s place information) belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended purpose. Don’t copy, modify, sell or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows.

12. Our responsibility to you

• We provide Chewsr with reasonable care and skill. If you’re a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms don’t take away.
• We’re not responsible for venues, booking providers, or anything that happens on your date, including the quality, safety or availability of a venue, or how other people behave.
• We’re not responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, or business losses (Chewsr is for personal use).
• Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t legally be limited.
• Chewsr is free to download. If we’re ever liable to you for anything not covered above, our total liability is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100 if that’s higher.

13. Ending your account

• You can stop using Chewsr whenever you like, and delete your account in Account → Delete account. Deleting removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy. Cancel any subscription separately in your Apple ID settings.
• We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we must for legal reasons, or if your account has been inactive for a long time (we’ll warn you first where we can). If we stop offering Chewsr altogether, we’ll give you reasonable notice.

14. If you downloaded Chewsr from the App Store

• These terms are between you and KR Labs Ltd, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for Chewsr and its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Chewsr. Contact us at support@chewsr.app.
• If Chewsr fails to meet any applicable warranty, you can tell Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any). To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation to you.
• Apple isn’t responsible for any claims about Chewsr, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. We are responsible for dealing with those.
• You confirm you’re not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you’re not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

15. General

• Changes: we may update these terms as Chewsr changes or the law requires. If a change is important, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
• Transfer: we may transfer this agreement to another company as part of a sale or restructuring; your rights won’t be reduced. You can’t transfer your account.
• If part of these terms isn’t valid, the rest still applies.
• Law: these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts.
